Working Class neighborhoods

Most of these neighborhoods has been redeveloped.
Modern Neighborhoods
(Riyad Al-Salam – Al-Masira – Al-Farah – Al-Wifaq – Al-Salam – Al-Huda – Al-Hayy Al-Muhammadi – Tilila – Adrar – Haut Founty – Tikiouine)
These neighborhoods are modern and have new buildings. Due to the availability of real estate in these new neighborhoods, they have now become home to most of the major sports facilities such as playgrounds and covered halls.
Affluent Neighborhoods
(Al-Najah – Al-Charaf- Ileigh – Founty- Swiss neighborhood)
These neighborhoods are affluent and consist mainly of villas.
Mountainside neighborhoods
(Ahelka – Emmonsis – Ighil Aderdour- Ait Al-Moden – Ait Tokt)
These neighborhoods are marginalized, referred to as the neighborhoods of the mountain foothills. These neighborhoods are part of the urban area of Agadir, but they are located in geographical areas that are difficult to access and suffer from several problems such as the absence of a sewage network, tap water, and the lack of roads and transportation.
Industrial neighborhoods:
In particular, it includes the Anza neighborhood and the Al-Batwar neighborhood, both of which were not affected by the 1960 earthquake. Al-Batwar is a southern industrial neighborhood occupying 256 hectares, known to be high in its residence capacity.
Tourist Area: This sector includes all sea-related land within the urban area, up to Mohammed V Street, and expands south, with an area of 190 hectares, used mainly to build hotels.
2020
On February 4, 2020, King Mohammed VI visited Agadir and oversaw the launch of the Agadir’s Urban Development Programme (2020-2024), which cost approximately 6 billion Dirhams, it aims to upgrade the city and enhance its attractiveness as a national and international tourist destination, improve the living conditions of Agadir’s population, strengthen basic infrastructures, and modernize and expand the road network. This program also includes improving the city’s Corniche, creating more green spaces, construction of many proximity stadiums, playgrounds, covered halls and pools.
